This is Hardcore Fest 2009- Our 4th Year and we’re ready to showcase again what’s best and what’s brightest- the bands that we all know and love, the bands that have busted their balls to get their name up and the ones we should be spending some extra time getting to know. This year will feature more names from the years past then in the last 3 installments of TIH. As I’ve always worked for the working bands, its important to get time to the bands who were an inspiration, a favorite and for a lot of us- Bands whose songs touched us in a way that while they’re no longer playing or as active they’ve made an impact or we’ve become endeared to them. While I will always push to keep the focus of the fest on those bands that are carrying hardcore in the present day, to deny a band as important in recent times as Floorpunch, or to the Suicide File who in their short time have made an impact would be wrong of us.
Reach The Sky came at a time when so many bands were trying to be the next metalcore kings or toughguy champs, yet their songs resonate still inside of so many personal memories that having them on our Fest as a Last Show wasn't even a question for me. It Had to be done.
We as a community need to remember the bands and their messages that came before today, as it was their work that brought us to this point and their influence that birthed today’s hardcore scene.

This it not the final band list, and there are other activities before and during the weekend that we will make announced as we get closer to Fest.

TICKETS
Tickets will be on sale in June. We’ve never sold out a day so don’t stress and worry that it will sell out, just make plans to get your tickets in advance from our website or from the R5 productions site (listed below)
Ticket prices have averaged about 50-60 for the weekend, and without a full lineup I can’t have a final # but it will not be outside of our average, again in about 4 weeks all this will be final and these answers will be provided.

HOTELS
I can tell you we’re working very hard to get accommodations at block rates, but if you are flying in and are worried about getting a place to stay look at our myspace and website for local hotels. Or ask someone who’s gone before, maybe they can tell you where they stayed. Closer to the venue will cost more but may be more convenient.
Across the Ben Franklin Bridge/ Tacony-Palmyra Bridge in NJ are priced a bit cheaper but there it a commute. Again check our sites in a few days as we’re working to update all that information to help you with your accommodations.

TABLES/LABELS ETC
Those labels we worked with in the past will be emailed in a few days and told of the table situation. Please RSVP in regards to the tables asap.
For new people, we also have space but again it’s a first come, first come situation.
Please contact us direct in regards to reserving table space for your Label/Merch company etc.
We DO NOT cater to any political organization, so please don’t ask for table space for your propaganda.

Again thank you all for being very patient in waiting for the announcement.
In the months to follow, look to the myriad of websites we run for the most ACCURATE information. Don’t go on rumor and gossip alone in regards to who it playing or if its sold out.

Review by Wren from http://www.stereokiller.com/ :

Boxcutter, the Kingz Of Thugz are back. I’ve been bugging Mahmood to get my hands on a copy of this for who knows how long. I love Pitbull Ways and Thug Rock so my anticipation was pretty high when I saw this in my pile of albums to review.

For those who don’t know. Boxcutter is pretty much a super-group of hardcore OG’s. Featuring Ismean (Fury Of V) and Mad Joe Black (OTW/WIC) on vocals and Richie Krutch and Chris Mushmouth on guitars giving their version of a straight from the streets hip-hop/hardcore mix. Bands like Body Count and E-Town Concrete come to mind for quick comparisons but Boxcutter has a style all their own. If you think Mushmouth with hip-hop beats you are on the right track.

Most of the record features the hip-hop/hardcore hybrid and this material is the heaviest stuff they’ve recorded to date. BFL Soldier, Ghetto Story Part II, Crown Of Righteousness are so good its hard for me to get passed the halfway point of the album because I’m always going back to listen to them again. Each of the more instrument focused songs are catchy yet keep their hard edge. It will be hard not to bob your head or put your foot through someone’s torso once you pop this one. For songs like Kingz Of Thugz, Too Young To Die, and The Recipe that band opts to almost ditch the instruments completely and generate their focus on straight up hip-hop. Kingz is a call for battle against the “wangstas” of the world. Too Young is a ballad track about a fallen friend. The Recipe will have girls shaking their asses while their boyfriends are brawling.

Boxcutter is definitely a “love’em or hate’em” band and I’m a total sucker for this stuff. This album has gotten heavy play time since I’ve got my hands on it and I don’t see that stopping for awhile. The best thing is two of my favorite older Boxcutter songs (Ghetto Story and Move’em Out) are featured as bonus tracks on the record. Hearing Ismean on the mic again brings me back to the Fury Of Five days and gets me pumped. I can’t wait to see these guys live.

If you know and like old Boxcutter, prepare to be blown away. If you don’t like them, well that’s your loss. If you are into bands like E-Town Concrete and Body Count then you’ll definitely be into this record.

Nitro Circus Season 1 ALL Episodes TV-RIP

<a href="http://www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn/nitro_circus/series.jhtml" target="_blank">Nitro Circus Trailer</a>

My Synopsis:
Its Travis Pastrana, the dirt bike guy who does double backflips, and all his extreme athlete friends, and some Jackass guys cameo, going all around the US and world hucking themselves off of anything and everything, landing some of it, and CRASHING ALOT. Tons of cool stunts, involving attempting to backflip everything from a Monster Truck to Pink Tricycles. Think of a show where you have Jackass hijinx with people who have actual skill in riding motocross, alpine skiing, and jumping out of airplanes. The crashes alone are worth the watch, it had me laughing out loud which I rarely ever do.

From Wikipedia:
Nitro Circus is an American television series that shows Travis Pastrana and all his friends going all over the world riding dirtbikes, base jumping, and anything reckless that comes into their heads. It was originally run as a miniseries in 2006 on Fuel TV. In January 2009, it began running as an episodic reality television show on MTV that features people performing various dangerous stunts. The series officially debuted on February 8th.[3]

Premise:
Nitro Circus is a television show centered around one of the world's premier freestyle motocross riders Travis Pastrana and his crew of top action sport athlete buddies. The show follows Travis and the Nitro Circus Crew as they travel around the world setting up outrageous stunts and pushing the human body to the limit, constantly looking to innovate the world of action sports. Travis' compound in Annapolis houses a full motocross course, foam pits and a home-made waterslide carved into a hill creating a self contained extreme sports circus. Whether they are base jumping, sky diving, riding, driving or relaxing, this group of tight-knit, highly skilled, adrenaline-fueled friends always take the action "to eleven" with the hammer down.[4]

I know I missed Thursday...

I came home from a hard day of soldiering, 4 mile timed run in morning and bullshit running around all day, and I didn't get to do a lot of things. Went to shower and than came out and fell asleep on my bed I missed getting dressed, eating dinner, blogging and a friend's hardcore show. So today I will be doing two posts and one will be a WHOLE Season of a TV show for you. I apologize, but I was dead tired.

Notable Quotes:
"You know what you are. What you're made of. War is in your blood. Don't fight it. You didn't kill for your country. You killed for yourself. God's never gonna make that go away. When you're pushed, killing's as easy as breathing. "

"..live for nothing or die for something.."

"heroes don't die they reload"

Plot Summary from IMDB:
In this latest Rambo installment, John Rambo has retreated to a simple life in a rural Thai village near the Burmese border, capturing snakes for local entertainers, and transporting roamers in his old PT boat. Following repeated pleas, Rambo helps ferry a group of Christian aid workers into war-torn Burma, where the local Karen villagers are regularly tortured and massacred by Major Tint's sadistic soldiers. The humanitarian mission is going well, until the village is attacked and the missionaries are kidnapped, and Rambo is once again asked to transport - but this time a group of mercenaries, assembled by the missionaries' minister on a deadly rescue mission. This time he doesn't stay behind.

Fury of Five

FROM THEIR MYSPACE:

About Fury Of Five

Forming in 1994, FURY OF FIVE are no strangers to NYC Hard Core. They've left their mark in clubs from Avenue A to 154th Street. However, FURY OF FIVE hail from New Jersey and are hand in hand with the other hardcore bands coming out of the neighboring big city. What makes this band so unique is their ability to attract the typical hardcore/punk kid with their street-level, fuck society lyrics coupled with skankable songwriting and the average metalhead through their proficient use of head-spinning, jagged riffs.

The band has toured extensively throughout the Northeastern United States and has two European tours under their belts. The aggression, mayhemand energy that exists at a FURY show is unsurpassed. 'At War With The World' was recorded at the reknowned Normandy Sound by Jamie Locke (Vision of Disorder, Madball, Obituary...).
FURY OF FIVE is the epitome of what today's underground music scene needs- a brutally honest, in your face, hard-working band. If you like hard music and want the real deal, come and get some.

After all the shit that's gone down. After all the crap that's been said. The rip offs, the beat downs, the lies, the fucked up promoters, the broken promises, the record companies... Here it is FURY OF FIVE. "This Time It's Personal". This is the group that never compromised and never ever backed down. With FURY OF FIVE at any moment it could go off big time. A look, a stare, an attitude... see ya pal. I hope your insurance is paid up. Being addicted to chaos and anarchy myself I knew that I had to manage this band from the first day I met them. Self destruction was eminent, it was really just a matter of time. But in the end who really gives a fuck. We went around the world and had some good times and that's really where it's at. This is the band that took no shit (Or what they thought was shit) from anybody. Whether you were in a band (especially if you were in a band), a bouncer in a club, or just an everyday fool who can't keep your mouth shut your ass would get fucking taxed. It kept things lively - that's for sure. But when you live by the sword of course you die by the sword as well. In the end all of Fury's violent exploits painted them into a corner. There was just nowhere to go. It's hard to be a band when clubs don't want you to play since you put a bunch of their bouncers in the hospital. So there you have it. This could be the final document of the legendary New Jersey based band FURY OF FIVE... so enjoy it!... Or else!
